So yesterday we had to buy Nolan a new car seat! Yes, he has already outgrown his infant carrier/carseat that came with our stroller! It just amazes me how fast we go through things....clothes, carseats, diapers, etc. I am sure this is not anything new to those of you reading this but for the record, I would like to say....BABIES ARE EXPENSIVE! Don't get me wrong though, every morning you wake up to that gummy little smile and hear him laughing with excitement to see you, it makes it all worth it!!!! Hope everyone is having a super great weekend :) - kathleen

Evan gave us a call yesterday evening! It was actually quite a surprise. I was sitting on the couch feeding Nolan, when my cell phone started to ring. Kathleen saw that it was Evan and handed me the phone. He sounded like he was in really high spirits and having a fun time. Apparently, he just transitioned out of the first phase of basic training and into phase two - white phase. Basic training has a total of 3 phases: Red, White and Blue. In each one, you get a few more privilages and get yelled at less by the drill sergeants.
He's moving right along with all of his training. His platoon, 4th platoon "Wolfpack", has already repelled off the victory tower, been through the gas chamber, and wrapped up the first phase with a field training exercise (FTX), where he was out in the woods for 3 nights. He and his fellow platoon members spotted and promply killed a brown recluse spider - very dangerous creatures! The rest of that night he slept wearing all of his clothes despite how hot it was. I don't blame him! Today marks his first day doing Basic Rifle Marksmanship. They'll be marching out to the firing range to start learning the basic skills that it takes to pass this phase of learning. During this time period, he'll also learn about how to use the grenade, M60 machine gun and claymore mines. He mentioned that he is getting everyone's mail. He really enjoys getting and reading it, so please keep it coming! We'll post more when we hear from him!

Hi Everyone! Nolan is growing like a weed (as you might be able to tell in the pictures). He has mastered rolling over and is currently working on crawling. He scoots himself around by pushing off his toes but hasn't mastered getting up on his knees! Also new, we have recently started Nolan on cereal and as you can see from the videoclip.....it has not been a successful venture! But, each night we keep trying and just hope that one night it will just stick! On the job front, Anderson has been attending job fairs and getting his name out there. In October he will be going to a job fair out in Colorado Springs, CO and begin scoping out the area....it seems like this is where we will be, come next February. I guess time will tell what the future holds for us! We will keep y'all posted :) All for now :)
